Milerecord help

A little help,
for every trip.

Find answers about records, reports, purchases and moving to a new phone.

How do I add a round trip?

In Trips, choose the departure and arrival addresses and enter the mileage for one leg. Choose Yes to add a return trip. The app saves two same-day records with reversed addresses. A 7.5-mile leg stays 7.5 miles; adding its return creates a second record. Parking and tolls are added once to the outbound entry. Edit either record if the return distance or fees differ.

Can I enter both parking and tolls?

Yes. Enter each fee in its own field. Both appear in the appropriate report columns. No general other-expense category is included.

How do cases and dates work?

Select the case before adding a trip. New records belong to that case. A claim number is optional. Trips sort by visit date even when entered out of order. Review the selected case and date range before exporting.

How are mileage rates chosen?

The bundled date-based schedule covers 2023–2026 for California workers’ compensation medical travel and corresponding IRS business mileage rates. It is not the IRS medical tax-deduction rate. Select a custom rate when your reimbursement rules differ. Future schedules require an app update or manual entry; there is no live government feed.

What requires Pro?

Every PDF report export and print requires the one-time Pro unlock, even for one record. Recording, editing, cases, places, personal iCloud sync and JSON backups are free. To recover a purchase, use the same purchasing Apple Account and choose Restore Purchases in Settings. A pending or cancelled purchase does not grant access.

What if I have 200 records?

The PDF continues across pages, with up to 12 trip rows per page. Different mileage rates start a new page. History page size affects the screen, not the PDF’s row capacity.

How do I move to another phone?

Export a JSON backup in Settings and keep a copy somewhere you control. On the new phone, use the same Apple Account for personal iCloud sync, or restore your saved backup. Sync runs while the app is open and depends on iCloud availability and storage. Sync also propagates deletion; it is not a historical backup. Restoring a backup replaces current app records, so first export any newer records you want to retain.

Can I recover a deleted trip?

Open Settings → Recently Deleted within 30 days. Review Recovery backups for local recovery copies. Delete all records is a separate permanent action and also removes local recovery copies. Files already shared outside the app must be managed separately.
